No it surely doesn't, cause ./configure doesn't know about mysql at all. 

It needs ruby-mysql (or mysql-ruby, whatever it's called), and if you 
compile _this_ yourself then it will need mysql-devel. But you surely 
don't need to recompile gridflow.
